Capital One Bank Bayou City Art Festival

Create your OWN art at the Bayou City Art Festival’s Capital One Bank Creative Zone

Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park has something for everyone! While the adults shop from 300 fine artists, the kids can express their own artistic creativity too! Art Colony Association is pleased to announce Capital One Bank
as sponsor of the hands-on Creative Zone for the second time at the 13th Annual Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park scheduled for March 26 – 28.

The Capital One Bank Creative Zone will feature interactive arts and craft stations for festival participants of all ages to showcase their artistic abilities. Managed by local non-profit organizations, Capital One Bank’s generous sponsorship directly assists the non-profit partners so that approximately 30,000 festival-goers can have fun creating art themselves.

“Capital One Bank is pleased to support the Capital One Bank Creative Zone for the second year in a row,” said Annella Metoyer, Houston Market President for Capital One Bank. “At Capital One Bank, we are proud members of the Houston community and constantly look for ways to make a real difference. For us, community involvement and helping to build residents’ pride in our community takes on many forms -- from teaching financial literacy skills and hosting community revitalization projects to promoting artistic expression through our support of events like the Bayou City Arts Festival.”

Festival patrons can visit the Capital One Bank Creative Zone and take part in creative activities facilitated by over 17 local nonprofits. Make your own jewelry, mini art car, pinwheels, sun prints and more. The following is a list of the confirmed Capital One Bank Creative Zone activities:

  • Art League Houston – ECO-Wear - Turn bicycle tires and other recycled materials into fabulous jewelry!
  • City ArtWorks – Garden Lanterns - Create paper lanterns inspired by John Singer Sargent’s flower paintings.

  • Orange Show Center for Visionary Art – Mini Art Cars - Not enough time to create a full-size model for the Art Car Parade? Let your imagination run wild and make a mini version!
  • For the first year, Capital One Bank will bring Wax Hands to Creative Zone patrons. Dip your hands in wax to create a festival souvenir!

Capital One Bank is also proud to sponsor the festival’s first community mural, titled “Capital One Cares.” Join MOCAH (Museum of Cultural Arts, Houston) and award-winning artist Reginald Adams to create the weekend's largest artwork. Patrons can participate Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
